Paul Freeman


Paul is Mindsheet’s Lead Systems Architect. He is an experienced technical architect and systems designer with extensive expertise in Java applications and rule-based programming.

Paul has 10 years of experience as a Certified Java Programmer, 13 years of experience with object-oriented design methodologies, including RUP, UML, and HP-FUSION, and 4 years of experience with XML/XSLT/XML-Schema, XML-web services, and Apache AXIS SOAP toolkits. Paul was responsible for the architecture of the ITI Techmedia brand protection and product authentication platform has been the senior designer for web-based Java and XSLT platforms and has designed the XSLT framework for modeling mobile device capabilities for WAP/WML1.1 content delivery.

Some of the software analysis and development contracts have been successfully delivered to ITI Techmedia, BT/Syntegra, De La Rue Cash Systems, Royal Bank of Scotland, Dresdner Kleinwort-Benson, Industrial Bank of Japan, and Schroder.

Previously, Paul worked at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, where he was involved in advanced software research projects and artificial intelligence. Research interests included: rule-based production systems, logic services, and visual programming. He was a founder member of HP’s Knowledge-Based Systems Centre, where he provided consulting services to HP divisions and their clients.

Paul has a BSc (Hons) in Experimental Psychology from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Computing Science from Imperial College, London.
